TODD Architects’ interiors team discuss the need for inclusive office design in Property Week

Satellite MPR has been working closely with TODD Architects’ Interior Architecture team on a number of thought leadership topics, including the pressing issue of designing for neurodiversity in workplace environments. TODD Architects has a great track record in designing places for people and has been fortunate to work with several progressive businesses, such as ARM and Microsoft, in the delivery of workspaces that can better accommodate a more diverse talent pool.

Taking some of the thought leadership content we created, Satellite MPR was delighted to secure an opinion piece in Property Week for TODD Architects Associate, Andrew O’Doherty. In the piece Andrew argues that interior architects and designers have a responsibility to create office interiors that work for everyone from day one; offices that reflect the wide diversity of talent a modern business thrives upon and that can continually evolve as the world around us evolves, too.

Outlining TODD Architects’ expertise and approach to design, Andrew says: “At the end of the day, our desired outcome is to design a space that works for the majority. When we design inclusive workspaces, we don’t put a big sticker on the wall that says this is a neurodivergent safe space. It just feels like a nice space for every person who enters into it. Design that is sensitive to the individual needs of all can create spaces that accommodate different personality types and ways of working, foster creativity, focus and productivity and ensure daily tasks are completed successfully.”

The piece appeared in the 16 November print edition of Property Week and is also available to read online HERE
